With a fully thermally broken frame, clean sight lines and a choice of glass specs, it's ideal for kitchens, living areas and extensions where you want a bright, open‑plan feel without sacrificing performance.
Inner Glass Options – Toughened or Laminated
Every Brett Martin Pyramid Roof Lantern is supplied with self‑cleaning outer glass as standard, paired with a high‑performance inner pane. You can choose between:
- Toughened inner glass – the robust, standard option for most applications. Toughened glass is up to five times stronger than ordinary glass and breaks safely into small granular pieces.
- Laminated inner glass – recommended by the Rooflight Association for enhanced overhead safety. Laminated glass is made from multiple layers bonded together, so if it breaks the inner layer holds together rather than falling into the room.
If you're unsure which option is best for your project, we can advise based on room use, height above floor level and any specific safety requirements.
Thermal Performance
- Centre‑pane glazing U‑value of around 1.2 W/m²K.
- Overall rooflight Ur‑value typically between 1.8 – 2.0 W/m²K, depending on specification.
