The Brett Martin Roof Lantern is a premium, double‑glazed aluminium rooflight system designed to flood your space with natural light while keeping heat in and weather out. With a fully thermally broken frame, clean sight lines and a choice of pane layouts and glass specs, it’s ideal for kitchens, living areas and extensions where you want a bright, open‑plan feel without sacrificing performance.
Choose Your Lantern Layout
We offer two classic pane layouts so you can match the style of your project. Both options share the same slim aluminium frame design, so whichever layout you choose you still get clean sight lines and a bright, open feel.
4‑Pane Layout
A contemporary look with larger glass areas and fewer bars. Perfect for modern extensions and minimal interiors.
6‑Pane Layout
A more traditional lantern aesthetic with additional glazing bars, great for period properties or where you want a little more visual structure.
Inner Glass Options – Toughened or Laminated
Every Brett Martin Roof Lantern is supplied with self‑cleaning outer glass as standard, paired with a high‑performance inner pane. You can choose between:
- Toughened inner glass – the robust, standard option for most applications. Toughened glass is up to five times stronger than ordinary glass and breaks safely into small granular pieces.
- Laminated inner glass – recommended by the Rooflight Association for enhanced overhead safety. Laminated glass is made from multiple layers bonded together, so if it breaks the inner layer holds together rather than falling into the room.
If you’re unsure which option is best for your project, we can advise based on room use, height above floor level and any specific safety requirements.
Thermal Performance
- Centre‑pane glazing U‑value of around 1.2 W/m²K.
- Overall rooflight Ur‑value typically between 1.8 – 2.0 W/m²K, depending on specification.
- Fully thermally broken aluminium frame to reduce cold bridging and condensation risk.
This performance meets or exceeds the limiting values for rooflights in current English Building Regulations, helping you hit your energy targets as well as your design goals.

- 9 core standard sizes from 1500mm x 1000mm up to 3000mm x 2000mm for fast delivery.
- Custom sizing available right down to individual millimetres – we price truly bespoke sizes by the next size up in the Brett Martin grid, with a small additional charge for made‑to‑order manufacture.
